How do I change the themed Object Image?

The flash header includes a replaceable themed object, as well as the 4 replaceable flash images. You can change this themed object yourself. You would need a replacement image. The image would need to be 'cutout' from any colored background, and also reside on a transparent background.

The themed object is saved in a SWF format, which helps to keep the transparency of the backtground in tact. Transparent GIF of TIF images do not have a very good transparency for web pages, nor can they be loaded into a flash movie.

To create a replacement image, follow the video tutorial:

  • The themed image is loaded from the 'flash/themed-object/' folder
  • create a new transparent image with the following dimensions:
    • 225 pixels wide
    • 225pixels high
  • MAKE SURE the image is on a transparent background, and the object is 'CUT OUT' or 'MASKED' for transparency
  • name the transparent image: themed-object2
  • SAVE your new 'themed-object2' as a SWF (save or export from your graphic editor, Swish or Flash program)
  • SAVE the 'themed-object2.swf' file to the:
    • flash/themed-object/ folder to replace the existing file
  • We've included an editable 'themed-object2.png' file (editable in Macromedia Fireworks) but you can also use this file to help correctly size the canvas for your replacement image using your favorite graphic editor
